Curiosity can continue after the beginning

An immediate connection may be part of your story, but it is not the only part worth exploring. As a relationship develops, you can become curious about each person’s expectations, values, communication, and plans. No single first impression tells you everything about a shared future.

Talk about the everyday things

What does each person want from time together and time apart? How do you approach disagreement? What are your expectations about commitment, family, or work? These are prompts for a conversation, not a test with one correct set of answers.

Ask for support when a conversation feels stuck

If the topics become difficult to navigate, you can enquire about couples therapy or premarital support. The practitioner can discuss what you want from the process and whether their approach fits. This article retains the original website address but makes no claim that a particular study can predict the future of your relationship.

Bring your own questions.

The right starting point is personal to you. You can ask about the practitioner’s experience, approach, and availability before arranging an appointment.
